Jamie Lewis on the Future of Identity Management
13 May, 2005 - 12:51pm
The CEO and Research Chair of the Burton Group, Jamie Lewis, spoke at this week's Digital ID World conference on identity management trends, noting that regulatory compliance and automated provisioning are driving IdM adoption. He also discussed user-centric identity, stating that the Internet needs an adaptable identity system to support a wide spectrum of contexts.
Jamie suggests that new technology approaches, such as Sxip and Microsoft’s Infocard, are an early step towards "federating individuals" whereby users have more control over their identity information. A great summary of his keynote is on ZDNET by Chris Jablonski. Jamie has also posted follow up points to his presentation on his own blog.
