Kim Cameron, leading thinker on digital identity and all-around-nifty-chap, posts another of his laws of digital identity.

This one is called "The Law of Pluralism" and is stated thus:

A universal identity system MUST channel and enable the interworking of multiple identity technologies run by multiple identity providers.
