How Identity 2.0 Can Help the Writeable Web
23 January, 2006 - 10:32am
Dion Hinchliffe has an excellent article posted in the Web Services Journal yesterday on the problems facing the two-way nature of social software and how best to address it. Indicative of this, he cites the closure of comments on the Washington Post blog due to inappropriate content and believes that a system is needed that encourages the responsible use of an editable and changeable Web. His solution? Identity 2.0 may be the answer.
Hinchliffe suggests that "controlling anarchy on the writeable Web might be as simple as asking that folks flash their Identity 2.0 credential right before they change something on the Internet". Thereby helping solve comment flaming, spam, and other mischief. Our upcoming release of sxore, which brings identity and reputation to the blogosphere, will indeed be the first step along this path.
