Identity 2.0 Audiocast
27 October, 2005 - 3:46pm
Sxip's Founder and CEO, Dick Hardt, gives an in-depth interview to UK-based Paul Miller of Talis Talk on Identity 2.0, and the ways in which personal identity might better be managed in the online environment. Talis Talk covers conversations with thought-leaders at the interface between Web 2.0, Libraries, and the Semantic Web.
In the conversation, Dick proposes that aspects of an individual’s identity should be disaggregated in order that those needing to identify them only see those characteristics that they need in order to support a decision; that you are old enough to buy a drink, rather than exactly how old you are, where you live, etc. Further, he outlines the notion of trusted ‘Homesites’ on the Sxip Network, with which an individual might entrust aspects of their identity, and to which those in need of identity validation would then address appropriate requests for fulfilment.
