Sxip Releases New Java OpenID Libraries

16 April, 2007 - 3:22pm

We have a new version of the OpenID4Java library: v0.9.2 that is a full featured and configurable OpenID implementation licensed under the Apache 2.0 open source license. Our library supports every feature in OpenID plus the attribute exchange and simple registration extensions for transfering identity data. It's now simpler for developers to transfer data on their site and much easier to OpenID-enable a website or become an OpenID provider, which will be great for interoperability with other relying parties and OpenID providers.

OpenID is a free, decentralized framework for user-centric identity on the web. The release supports:

  • OpenID Authentication 2.0 and 1.1
  • XRIs
  • OpenID Attribute Exchange 1.0
  • OpenID Simple Registration 1.0 and 1.1
  • Simple OpenID

A big thanks to the community who has worked on this with us for the past few months to make a better OpenID experience for Java web developers! The docs, wiki and source are available on the project home page at http://code.google.com/p/openid4java. The library and API can be found at http://code.sxip.com.
