Web 2.0 at VEF: Concurrent Mashups

26 October, 2005 - 9:10am

Last evening's panel discussion on Web 2.0, which was moderated by Sxip's founder & CEO Dick Hardt, at the Vancouver Enterprise Forum was by far one of the most stimulating talks I've seen. The enormous setting alone made for a fabulous backdrop for the speakers, with three movie-sized presentations going simultaneously on the massive OMNIMAX screen at Science World. Kudos to Bryght's Boris Mann, who did a fabulous job of featuring Web 2.0 on the fly including AJAX, Flickr, and JotSpot to name a few.

Some of the feedback on Sxip's talk includes, "Dick Hardt’s on Identity 2.0 was very cool. What is identity, who are you, and how the heck other people, sites, and processes know who you are" by John Koetsier. And Will Pate has posted a good summary of the all panelists key points.

A couple of the presentations are already available online including, "Blogging" by Roland Tanglao and "AJAX in 5 Minutes" by Andre Charland. The VEF will hopefully post the others on their site soon, as well as an audiocast and videocast. The photos can be viewed on Flickr and on Urban Mixer.
